About the Author

My name is Nancy Richardson and I am a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. I reside in Beloit, WI and hold a Bachelor of Science/Psychology degree from Upper Iowa University. I have 63 of 70 credits completed for my Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice but was unable to complete that degree due to class scheduling, financial aid, and my work schedule. I am currently attending University of Wisconsin-Platteville and will graduate 12/2012 with my Master’s of Science and Education (MSE) /Human Services/Adult Education degree. I have written probably hundreds of essays, research papers, reflections and discussion questions in my educational career. In addition, my work experience includes writing detailed, accurate, and objective reports, reports that are legal documents.

As a student myself, I understand the frustrations one faces writing research papers. As a project for my Adult Learner course I have, therefore, put together this blog for you to use as a guide for writing research papers APA style. I hope you find the information useful and allows you to sidestep many of the problems I encountered writing my own papers.

“To me, the greatest pleasure of writing is not what it’s about, but the inner music the words make.”  ~Truman Capote, McCall’s, November 1967
